In different countries of the world, people usually bake pies and π-cakes, hold math quizzes and competitions to test their knowledge of the digits in π. And in Ukraine, it is customary to celebrate a whole week of mathematics!!!
On March 11-16, 2024, many activities will be held at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute together with the Junior Academy of Sciences and other partners. We invite you to join some of them right now:
For students and schoolchildren – Contest “2024 – the Year of Pi?”
- you just need to get the number 2024 using the minimum number of numbers π. According to the rules, you can use arithmetic signs (+, -, ×, /), powers and parentheses, the integer part [-] and the fractional part {-}. However, it is forbidden to use numbers from 0 to 9. (Please send your answers by March 13 to pi.work.kpi@gmail.com in a pdf file, where you must indicate your full name, city and school name).
For schoolchildren of grades 8-11 – Mathematical quest “Adventures of Picola and Radiana”
