International cooperation to improve mathematics education

From 2 to 4 December, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava hosted the international workshop AdaMass Partnership Meeting. The event brought together representatives of universities from different countries, including Tomas Bata University (Czech Republic), Technical University in Košice (Slovakia), Agder University (Norway) and five leading Ukrainian universities.

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was represented by the teachers of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory: K.K. Moskvychova, O.B. Pelekhata and O.A. Tymoshenko.

The main topic of the workshop was the elimination of educational gaps in mathematics knowledge caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The participants discussed the challenges faced by teachers and students, shared their experience of overcoming crises and looked for innovative approaches to effective distance learning.

The international community was particularly interested in the author’s step-by-step tests ‘Step by Step Test’, developed by the teachers of the MATH department. This approach is actively used for distance learning at the faculties where mathematical disciplines are taught by the teachers of the MATH department.

The workshop has become an important platform for exchanging ideas, discussing challenges and finding solutions to improve the quality of education in the context of global change. Participants gained valuable experience that will help improve the educational process in the future.
